Primarily business correspondence, legal agreements, and invitations of a Willington, Connecticut, family. The earliest document is a plot map of Timothy Holt's farm, drawn in 1808 just after his death. Orrin Holt, who served in the Connecticut General Assembly and the United States Congress, is represented by correspondence and legal documents, 1835-1854, including an agreement for having his house built, and a deposition he gave in a court case. Norman also has correspondence, and a legal agreement in which he formed a partnership to import boots, shoes, jewelry and other fancy goods into London, Ontario. Winfield S. Holt's materials include a resolution, a marriage certificate (1860), and a poem penned at his death in 1861. Catherine Griggs married Winfield Holt, and before her marriage, she was visited by numerous individuals who left their calling cards, which are included in the collection. Finally, there are photographs of the Holt homestead in Willington, and much later correspondence as a descendant of Orrin's sought to learn his family history.
